Nottingham Blogger Meet Up (#NottsBBmeet)

Hello there! Well it's been a while since I last posted on here, mainly due to work and organising my wedding, but I'm really excited to share with you my post on the Nottingham Beauty Blogger Meetup from a few weeks back.

The day involved lots of mooching around the shops of Nottingham and in the evening thirty of us made our way to TGI Friday's for a meal and cocktails.

I was super excited to catch up with a few bloggers who I've met before and also meet some new lovelies. At one point, I think I counted over fifty bloggers at the meetup, it was quite nerve-racking (and a little overwhelming!) meeting so many new people for first time, but everyone was super friendly.

The day was truly fabulous and I'm so pleased to have met lots of new and like minded ladies, I hope that we can do it again really soon!

Photo pinched from the fabulous Natalie at Floral Republic - Thanks Natalie!

A massive thank you to Sophia at Tattooed Tea Lady, Jessie at The Bode Boutique Amiiee at Its Amiieeism and Sophie at Candy Cane Heart  for organising this. The day flowed beautifully and I can't imagine how much time and effort has gone into arranging it.

I'd also like to share with you a picture of products we received in goody bags. I hope this doesn't come across as showing off, I just wanted to show you how much hard work had gone into not only organising the day but also the goody bags for all the bloggers.

I'd also like to thank all the brands who gifted these products, I was absolutely overwhelmed by their generosity and I'm really excited to work my way through. There are quite a few i've never tried before so it has been a real treat working my way through them. I'll be writing reviews on the ones which I really loved and would recommend to you.

Wish List: Neon Lights

Pencil skirts and neon yellows have been a reoccurring trend this season. Some bold and bright from head to toe and others with a peek-a-boo fluoro hue.

I personally love the neon trend, but I'm not brave enough to go all out with it, so my latest wish list combines acid yellow with muted greys and stand out blacks in graphic shapes.  I suppose this outfit gives a gentle nod to the 80's, hopefully not in a bad way!

I absolutely love this bag by Georgina Skalidi, I think it gives the look a bit of edge. Teamed with a white silk top, slightly bloused over, this softens the look slightly and makes it more wearable for the day.

6. Heels // Ravel @ Zalando // £75 // Link

So what do you think to the neon trend this S/S?
Would you dare to wear neon head to toe?
Would you style it differently?

INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAY: Matthew Williamson Scarf....

To celebrate getting my blog up and running I thought it would be a great idea to hold  my very own giveaway! The giveaway prize is a silk scarf from one of my favourite designers, Matthew Williamson.

A silk scarf is the easiest way to update an outfit and add a splash of vibrancy to any look. I love the bright colours Matthew Williamson used in this scarf, juicy tangerine and hot pink, it's just perfect for the sunny days we can look forward to this summer *crosses fingers*.  The detailing on the scarf is beautiful with it's stitched edge, luxurious matt silk, embroidered signature and soft knotted tassels. It looks divine and I'm sure whoever wins this will cherish it.

So you may be asking, how do I enter? Well it's pretty easy, all you have to do is complete one or more of the steps in the Rafflecopter below. You get extra points for completing more than one of the steps, which gives you a greater chance of winning. It's that simple and in three weeks, i'll be announcing the winner!

The best thing is the giveaway is open Internationally (although unfortunately if you live outside the UK, I can't be held responsible for any potential customs charges, sorry!)

Please feel free to email me if you have an questions and good luck!

Holy Grail Product - Nailtiques Nail Protein Treatment

Although this isn’t a beauty blog I’ll be writing reviews on my Holy Grail products every now and again. One product I buy over and over is the Nailtiques protein polish.  I have rubbish natural nails, always have. They break, peel and flake and don’t grow past a millimeter. They are so bad I used to be a gel nail addict to compensate for my nail inadequacies, that was until I found Nailtiques.

So what is Nailtiques? The spiel on the website says:

Nailtiques Nail Protein formulas were created to treat different nail conditions. The salon-tested formulations offer special combinations of ingredients, including hydrolyzed keratin and protein in combination with gelatin and calcium to build a healthy nail foundation. The protein formulas bond the nail layers together building a strong nail foundation resistant to peeling, chipping and splitting.

I’ve tried almost every nail strengthener going on the market and found most are just glorified base coats. Nailtiques is the first product that actually goes over and above what it’s supposed to do. Upon application my nails are instantly stronger, stop flaking altogether and with continued use, I can naturally grow nails that look like falsies! They are so strong I have to clip them and have invested in an electric file because they were taking too long to file.  Yes, it’s that good!

The protein treatments are just like clear polishes and can be worn on their own or under polishes. They come in different strengths, although for excessive nail problems I would advise starting with the Formula 2 Plus, which is the strongest. You start off by applying daily and as nails respond you will need to decrease application and switch to a lower formula.

Now this product is wonderful I could rave about it all day, however there are a few cons which I’ll tell you about.  This product isn’t in the cheap, for a 7ml bottle it costs around £9-10 which is cheaper than falsies but relatively pricey for a tiny bottle.  You can buy larger bottles which work out cheaper per ml of product, however I stopped buying them for the following reason.

This product dries up fast. Within a couple of months it’s a gloopy mess which is unusable.  I emailed the company about this and they recommended storing upright, keeping in a cool dry place and making sure the bottle neck is clean and fastened properly.

This is a known issue as the company recommends using their Nailtiques Formula Fix as a thinner, which I should really invest in but it annoys me that I should have to. I’ve tried a couple nail polish removers as a thinner and I can safely say this doesn’t work and just turns the formula white and lumpy.

The other really annoying thing about the treatment is that it flakes off very quickly. Despite flaking off, the product does still works, it just doesn’t look as glossy or maintained. It’s also not so much of a problem when you don’t have to apply regularly (further down the course of treatment) as you can just use it as a base coat for coloured polish.

Despite these annoyances, this is a staple product in my beauty regime and as soon as I stop using it, I revert back to what I call my ‘boy nails’. If you have nail woes, then I really would recommend checking out Nailtiques.

Wish List: Casual Sequins...

I love casual sequins, they make me feel happy and I certainly don't think they should just be saved for evening wear. Now I'm not suggesting you wear your most glitzy evening dress out to Sainsbury's, but why not enjoy a little sparkle whenever you want to?

This look has been around for a while now, but I keep finding myself falling back in love with it, so here is my latest day to night look, which I think is very pretty. Just swop the heels for some pumps in the day and a more casual satchel and you are good to go.

Nelly faux leather pumps // Nelly //  £42.95
Nelly brown clutch bag // Nelly //  £29.95 (was £42.95)
Pringle sequin skirt // The Outnet //  £106.50 (was £355)
Nouvelle necklace // Jules B //  £20.00 (was £39.99)
Screw Rose Gold Ring  // Amazon //  £7.99
Cream Jumper // Monki // £35.00

NEW Game update: Nanette Lepore Vs. Papillion Bleu

Sadly the Papillion Bleu dress dress hasn't found a new home yet, so I'll be relisting it in the future.

I'll keep you up to date of when it's up for auction again, alongside news of another bargain that i've won recently, it involves lots of sparkles, can't wait for it to arrive!

Just a quick note before I forget, I've been finding lots of bargains on Ebay but I've not had enough time to put them into a post before the auctions end, so I'm going to be posting them on my Twitter, @wardrobe_fairy , more regularly. I'll still be doing my regular Designer Top Finds post, but it just means I can share with you more lastminute bargains.

In the meantime here's my latest favourite track I've been listening to lately by Bastille called Pompeii. Can't wait to buy their new album, I think it's out this week *does a little dance*. Hope you like.
